Frequently Asked Questions
- Is your magazine available in print?
- How do I get the Android version onto my device?
- I purchased the iPad edition of the magazine but can not find it on my iPad, can you help me?
- Do you offer a Print Subscription?
- How can I download & print the issue on my computer?
Currently I do not offer a traditional print version that you can buy in stores at this time (although I hope that one day that may change!) but I do offer a print-on-demand version of the magazine. These are printed on heavy paper and are almost like soft-bound books. It is an outside printer who does this for me and they control the pricing. You can learn more about this by clicking the "Click here to buy print edition" tab on my site or going directly to their site here: http://www.magcloud.com/browse/magazine/596072
I know this pricing is not optimal but because I am such a small, one-woman business this is the only current print option I can offer. Fortunately you can buy single digital issues for $5.95 or subscribe to the digital version and save even more!
When you purchase the Android version it is not the same as the desktop version. The desktop versions are available in the library, the android versions are accessed via your Android tablet device.
Here are the steps from A to Z for getting the magazine on your Android device.
From the Jennifer Carroll Media website select the issue of your choice and click on "Click Here to Buy Android Tablet Edition".
Sign in or create an account on the JCM site.
Click "Buy ANDROID Edition"
This will take you to the "Celebrating Everyday Life" page in the Google Play store.
Click "Install". This will install the free app on your device. Please note, the app is free but the issues are not.
After you install the app, select "Open". Alternately, you can go to your home screen and find the "CEL magazine" app and click it to open it. This will take you to the CEL app home screen. Here you will see all the available issues. Next to each issue are buttons - "Buy" and "Preview". You can purchase each issue individually or subscribe - note: subscriptions save you money per issue.
If you buy a single issue, the button next to the issue will change to "Purchased" and read "downloading" while it's loading onto your tablet. This can take a few moments, perhaps make a cup or tea or coffee while you wait :-) Once it is downloaded the button will change to "READ". Tap on "READ" and the issue will open. Enjoy!
If you have trouble after you have purchased the issue, tap the icon in the top right corner which looks like 3 small squares in a vertical line. This is the "SETTINGS" icon for the app. A new window will open with a list of options. At the bottom of the list you will see "RESTORE PURCHASES". Tap this and any issues that you have purchased will re-download to your device.
Here are steps to help you view the magazine on your iPad:
On you iPad's home page, tap the "Newsstand" icon.
You should see a cover of Celebrating Everyday Life with Jennifer Carroll inside your newsstand. Please note: the cover showing may not be the latest issue, it may be the last issue you downloaded. Click on the cover you see of the magazine.
The app will open, you will see the available issues. Issues you've already purchased will have a "READ NOW" button next to them. If you have already purchased an issue through Apple, but don't have access to the issue, tape the "cog wheel" in the top RIGHT corner of the screen. Tap "UNLOCK MY PURCHASES" to restore your purchases. You may be prompted to enter the Apple ID you used to purchase the issue.
If you are still having problems, I recommend you tap the "cog wheel" in the top RIGHT corner, and then tap the "HELP" button. Then tap "F.A.Q.", a series of instructions will appear to walk you through a few other ways to resolve your problem.

If you are using your computer (not an iPad or other tablet) and you are logged in to your account on this site, click on the purchased issue you want to read. When the issue opens up, you will see a few "buttons" at the top of the screen. There is a button with a curved arrow pointing to the right. Click this arrow and then select "download". Once you have downloaded the issue you can open it using Adobe Reader (which you can download here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=DJDVP) and then read at your leisure and even print it.
